Northumbria

England's most northerly region, Northumbria is bordered by Hadrian's Wall, a World Heritage Site, the Pennines and the Northumberland Heritage Coast. Much of the countryside remains unspoilt whilst recent re-developments make Newcastle, Gateshead and Sunderland increasingly popular destinations.

The region has a wealth of castles to explore and the historic city of Durham is a great destination for a short break getaway.
