Norwood was built in around 1887 by a local entrepreneur named Mr Hacking, famous for the Lovelace brand of soap, with a range that included the famous Lovelace floating soap. The current owners purchased the house in 2001 and set about refurbishing it, including the addition of en suite bathrooms to all the bedrooms. A large conservatory was added in 2002 and the buildings were extended in June 2004 and 2005. All of the rooms have also been refurbished with new furnishings, décor, carpets and modern amenities. Nevertheless, the house still retains the wonderful character of bygone times and a unique charm. The Norwood also has a guest lounge with a large-screen TV.
