The Royal Oak Inn dates back to the 17th century and was originally built as a manager's house for the local bobbin mill. The inn has a wonderful traditional feel and the wood-panelled, fireside bar area offers a warm, homely environment. The lower lounge area is light and airy with an oak floor. There are 3 comfortable en suite rooms, each with a colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. With its open fire, traditional ales and tasty home-cooked food, this warm, charming inn is a welcome haven after a day spent exploring the spectacular natural beauty of the Lake District.
The Royal Oak Inn has a games room, equipped with a pool table and there is a free pool evening on Mondays, and a dominoes competition on Wednesday evenings. On hot summer’s day, guests can sit and relax in the large beer garden. Once a month, the inn hosts an evening of live music and every 2 weeks, there is a popular quiz night.
